Have you ever heard of the “Egyptian Maldives”? If not, this excursion is a must-see during your stay in Sharm El Sheikh. A yacht trip to Ras Mohammed National Park with a visit to the famous White Island is the most popular sea excursion in the region and leaves a lasting impression on every guest.
White Island, often referred to as the “Egyptian Maldives,” is one of the most visited and unforgettable natural attractions in Sharm El Sheikh. The excursion runs daily, so no long-term planning is required — simply contact us one day in advance, and we will reserve your places on the yacht.
Ras Mohammed National Park was established in 1983 following research conducted by Jacques-Yves Cousteau, whose work brought worldwide recognition to this unique marine area. Located approximately 20 km from Sharm El Sheikh, the reserve is home to protected coral reefs, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and extraordinary marine biodiversity.
Thanks to strict conservation measures, the underwater world of Ras Mohammed remains exceptionally pristine, featuring vibrant coral formations and rich marine life. Translated from Arabic as “Head of Mohammed,” Ras Mohammed is considered one of the most important natural reserves in the world, making this excursion a true highlight of any Red Sea vacation.
Optional diving: + $10 per person when booked in advance on the website — a 10-minute dive to a depth of up to 8 meters with a professional instructor
Diving is available for guests over 10 years old
If you prefer not to swim, you are welcome to relax on board, enjoy sunbathing, and take in the stunning views of the Red Sea throughout the day
Our transfer will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 07:30 in the morning (the exact pick-up time will be confirmed after booking) and take you to the port. The transfer usually takes 15–40 minutes, depending on your hotel’s location in Sharm El Sheikh.
At the port, you may rent swimming equipment such as masks, life jackets, fins, and thermal suits (optional). If you have your own snorkeling equipment, you are welcome to bring it with you.
After boarding the yacht and departing the port, guests can enjoy panoramic views of Sharm El Sheikh from the sea. A short safety briefing and an overview of the day’s program will be provided on board. The departure time of the yacht from the port of Sharm El Sheikh depends on permission from the Tourist Marine Police and is usually around 10:00 AM.
Soon after, the yacht will make two sea stops for swimming and snorkeling, with optional diving available for an additional $10 per person when booked in advance on the website. These stops take place near the pristine coral reefs of the world-famous Ras Mohammed National Park.
Throughout the trip, you will be accompanied by professional snorkeling and diving guides, as well as photographers (photos and videos are available for purchase at an additional cost). Each stop lasts approximately 40 minutes. Please note that sea stops depend on weather conditions; in some cases, the captain may choose to make one longer stop instead of two, combining swimming and diving.
If you choose not to dive, you can enjoy snorkeling along the coral reefs with a mask or simply relax and sunbathe on the yacht while taking in the beautiful surroundings.
The final stop of the excursion is White Island — a truly unique natural phenomenon. In the middle of the open sea, a small island of soft white sand has naturally formed, where guests can walk, relax, swim, and take stunning photos.
The yacht anchors as close to White Island as possible. Accompanied by a guide, guests swim from the yacht to the island and back, enjoying this unforgettable experience in one of the most iconic locations of the Red Sea.
Please note that White Island is not always clearly visible during the winter season. Due to waves and seasonal tides, the island may be partially or mostly covered by water, unlike in the summer season when it is more exposed.
After returning from White Island to the yacht, a buffet lunch prepared on board will be served while you enjoy panoramic views of Ras Mohammed National Park — a truly breathtaking setting.
Please note that soft drinks including water, tea, coffee, Sprite, and Coca-Cola are available throughout the day in unlimited quantities.
After lunch, the yacht returns to the port, sailing along the scenic coastline of Ras Mohammed National Park.
Upon arrival at the port, our transfer will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.
The estimated return time to the hotel is 17:30–18:30 (depending on the location of your hotel, the time may change to a later one).
Dear guests, we kindly ask you to check the weather forecast before your trip, as sea conditions may affect the program.
